Peg perego primo viaggio installation instructions
A neighbor has passed down to me a Peg Perego Primo Viaggio infant car seat and stroller and I need help with it. First, I just read on this forum that Peg Peregos have a 5 year expiry date, which would include this one, now almost 7 years old.
It is in pristine condition, was only used for a year with one child, and was never in an accident. Is it still unwise to use it? We don't really have it in our budget to buy a new one, but I'd rather figure out how to stretch the budget than endanger our child.
Second, if we do use it, the installation is confusing me. We've installed it properly, as far as I can tell, but the top of the car seat still wobbles forward and back a lot. Shouldn't it be tighter than that? I've read on these forums all about the "cocoon" or rebound effect, and the controversies about whether to tether the seat, and still don't know what to do.
Should I try to secure the back side of the seat to the floor, or to the front seat? What do I use to do this? Is there a place to buy the tether kit? I can't find it online anyway. Any opinions or help would be appreciated. I'm trying to schedule an inspection, but it seems that Friday afternoons aren't the time to do this, because the local AAA and CHP aren't answering their phones. Just in case the baby comes before I can get official advice, it'd be great to hear from people on this forum.
